Three Things You Cannot Do Without

Three Things You Cannot Do Without

Three Things You Cannot Do Without
A concise and succinct of Billy Graham's sermon

“A man is rich not by what he owns but by what he can’t do without”. Three things that we need to have JOY and PEACE and ASSURANCE of salvation.

1. Without shading Blood you couldn’t be forgiven:
Hebrew 9:22 says “Without shading of blood, there is no forgiveness.” Therefore, if Jesus did not shade his blood on the cross we will be still unforgiven, uncleansed and we would still be lost souls. From Genesis to Revelation, blood is shed. The life of the flesh is in the blood (Lev.17:11). By blood, we all mankind are related to one another regardless of our colors. Every Jews remembered and practice the celebration of passing over the blood on the doorpost not based on their good work, richness besides blood on the doorpost.

Whatever element the church served in the Lord's Table that element stands for the bloodshed of Jesus on the cross for John Baptist called Jesus the Lamb of God who takes away every sin of the world. The blood has power and there is forgiveness in the shedding of blood. Not a single spot of sin will not pass through the entrance of heaven unless only the blood of Jesus cleanse us (no other blood, but the blood of Jesus). Jesus' blood alone put us righteous and separated us from condemnation to be with God.

For God so loved us that He let His Son died on the cross. Thousands of angels pull out their swords and ready to rescue the Son of God but Jesus never calls them. He instead said that He came to do the will of His Father and shed His blood and died on the cross for you and me.

Second, without faith it is impossible to please Him:
Hebrew 11:6: Christ did His job on the Cross and now, your turn comes, without faith, we cannot please Him (God). Some men and women, who have faith were listed down like, the prostitute Rehab because she too believes in God and proved her faith by her work.

But to say what is faith? How do I have to get this faith? You know what faith is; believing and Receiving what God has revealed in the Bible, in nature, in conscience, and trust his scripture and Jesus Christ, whom He sent. For salvation, faith is personal trust apart from any works of Jesus Christ, I cannot work my way to heaven. After I received Jesus Christ as my Savior, I proved that I am a Christian by my works. But you cannot do one single thing to earn one minute in heaven because by Grace alone you were saved through faith, not by your work, it is a gift so no one should boast.

Salvation does not depend on what a single thing we have done or who we are, but it entirely depends on what is done on the cross by Jesus Christ that we believe and accepted Him as our Lord and my Savior. But after we are saved, we have sinned every minute and every day if we were not working for our Savior and abiding in Him. Faith without work is dead faith says, James.

This is Jesus' commandment, “You should believe in the son of God, Jesus Christ”. He commands or orders us to BELIEVE, BELIEVE……ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALL BE SAVED. There is no other way of approaching, knowing, and contact God, except through faith (Jn.14:6). Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Roman5:1).

What is faith? Faith is the reception of the gospel, confidence in God in his work, and is about total dependence on Christ who forgave and saved us. Faith is he, who reclined his whole weight (not less than 100%) upon the begotten Son alone because those who don’t recline his whole weight upon the Lord Jesus Christ is already condemned but he who reclined his whole weight 100% upon the Lord Jesus Christ alone is no more condemned (Jn.3:18).

We should not recline on the church for the activities we performed onto the church or work for the Lord were done as a result of our faith in Christ. Faith means receiving Christ Jesus wholeheartedly and live his life totally as His wish.

Third, without me you can do nothing John 15:5:
Hundred percent believing and reclining on Christ Jesus made possible the HS dwell in our heart. John 15 is one of the most important chapters in the bible talking about the grapevine and its branches which shows our (believers) relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and for our fellow Christians.

Prophesying Christians were not put right with God just by prophesying that they believe in God, in Scriptures, and in the work done of Christ on the cross unless their faith in God is genuine that is outwardly visible by good work. We, therefore, need to prove it by bearing the fruit of the Spirit within us like LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENT, GOODNESS, KINDNESS, GENTLENESS, FAITHFULNESS, SELF-CONTROL (Gal.5:22-23). They are to be lived out by the believers of Christ.

It is because, by their producing fruit, we shall know them that they are born from above. There are flowers, some were artificial while some were real. For sure birds know which one is real and be near to the real flower but not to the artificial ones.  A man who is really belonging to the Lord is alive as the real flowers while fake ones are like artificial flowers.

You could be useless branches for the Lord in three different ways, if "Three Things You Cannot Do Without" do not function on you
1.) If you refuse to listen to Christ at all.
2.) You listened to Him but the Word does not deep-rooted in you.
3.) You accepted Him as your Lord but not giving Him the first place.

So, to be abiding in Him, we must accept Him as our Lord and Savior and give Him the first place: as Lord of our eyes, Lord of our thought, Lord of our hand, and Lord of our everything. So without abiding by Him, you can do nothing spiritually to please Him, and impossible to bear supernatural fruit. He is the source of life to bear HS fruit. Therefore, by Him alone, we can love, longsuffering, self-control, kind, gentle, faithful, joyful, good, and be peaceful to those who are rough to us. All these are the outcome of our faith in Him and His work within us which are made possible just by the shading of the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ because we can do nothing without Him.

May the Lord bless you.
